Celebrating the Miami-based boutique retailer’s first decade in business, the SoleFly x Air Jordan 10 Retro ‘10th Anniversary’ features a design inspired by Miami’s Freedom Tower. The all-suede upper, finished in Sail and beige coloring, recalls the structure’s two-tone façade, while a newsprint graphic on the outsole references the building’s origins as the headquarters of The Miami News. Unique branding hits include ‘SOLEFLY 10’ stamped on the tongue and the company’s logo embroidered on the left heel.
Over the past several years, Miami-based sneaker boutique SoleFly and Jordan Brand have developed a strong partnership. The two have collaborated on multiple Jordan silhouettes, often using SoleFly’s signature Orange/Green colorway. The SoleFly x Air Jordan 10 Retro ‘10th Anniversary’ is the first Jordan 10 collaboration between Jordan Brand and SoleFly and is inspired by Miamis Freedom Tower. On the inside of the tongue it reads ‘Inspired By Our Amazing Run’ along with 10 and 20 which pays tribute to SoleFlys 10th Anniversary.
Reminiscent of the sandy beaches of South Beach, this Air Jordan 10 is noted for its “Sail” suede build. The cream colored material appears on the mudguard, as well as on the mid-panel, toe, and collar. A darker shade of beige suede dots the top of the collar and extends to the tongue, laces, and eyelets of the quick-lace design. A Turbo Green-embroidered Jumpman graces the heel. A white midsole and contrasting “Sail” colored translucent outsole which, like all Jordan 10 models, lists Michael Jordan’s noteworthy accomplishments up to his first retirement. The two-tone separation on the shoe is continued by the heel pulls, webbing-constructed eye stays and laces.
The first preview of the SoleFly x Air Jordan 10 Retro ‘10th Anniversary’ was arranged by Michael Jordan’s brother-in-law and SoleFly founder, Carlos Prieto. This took place at the Dior show in December 2019.
