Here is a nice book about the North Pole written by the explorer Robert Peary, the first man to have reached this point on earth. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!
The book deals with the first successful expedition to reach the North Pole of Earth. The full title of book is, "The North Pole Its Discovery in 1909 Under the Auspices of the Peary Artic Club". This is the second edition of this book issued in 1910. The first edition was issued in 1910. The book was published by the Frederick Stokes Company of New York and there is a printed notation of the book being from September 1910.
The book has a blue hard cover with gold gilt lettering on the front and spine. There is also an image on the front cover of a man holding an american flag. The covers and spine are still securely attached to the rest of the book. The book is securely bound together. Some rub to the covers, most notably along the edges of the book covers. The large folding color map in the rear of the book is still in place and attached to the book. There are 8 full color illustrations and 100 black & white illustrations. The book has an introduction in the front from Theodore Roosevelt.
No musty or mildewy smell. No foxing or brown spotting, or moldiness. Some minor browning to the pages. The pages are still securely bound the book. Some minor pencil markings in the front blank pages of the book. The top of the cut pages have a gold gilt on them.

We also obtain insurance on any item that was bought for $50or more, and require signature on delivery for items that are valued at over$200. Plus we have to pay the 11.75% ofthe final value and shipping fees that eBay and PayPal charges.
Returns Policy
- Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of item where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a 15% restocking fee for the Item and Shipping Cost should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
- Please note that a restocking fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
- In accordance with eBays Buyer Protection Program, the purchase price plus original shipping costwill berefunded to the buyer once the item has beenreceived by the seller, minus the 15% restocking fee noted.
