DESCRIPTION

Travelogue of Timbuktu in Mali, north of the Niger River by Felix Dubois, in the original French. Dated from Copac, only early edition of this work published in France by Ernest Flammarion. Sharing observations and  impressions of the city and travels through the region, the descriptive text accompanied with lovely vignettes in text after photographs by the author and M. J. Drillon.

Felix Dubois was a French journalist and explorer, his most famous books concern his travels in French West Africa.


CONDITION

In the original publishers full cloth binding, new marbled endpapers. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear, lightly bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, spine sunned. Internally, hinges lightly strained to frontispiece, holding firm, volume firmly bound. Pages clean with age toning, as usual with the type of paper used. Illustrated with a frontispiece and vignettes in text.
